Digital video files dissolve into fragments of time – frames per second. At normal playback, the image motion is smooth and continuous, when paused we see a single frame suspended in time. The set of crimson buttons I received both inspired and trouble me. Using a combination of video capture and photo editing techniques as well as the buttons that were sent to me to produce a totally new kind of work for me. Through experimentation and frustration, I eventually combined 37 frames of video into one, fusing the fragments time into a single unreal moment.
