This artwork originates as the Celtic love knot and has been created with the idea of a love theme. It has been the common thread of connection that has kept us united and the intention of this artwork is to be uplifting through affection during these challenging times. At the same time, the artwork draws on bright happy colours to bring an energy of happiness to its surroundings.
Xandra Connelley works across different genres of art such as painting and textiles engaging in abstract, landscape and still life themes. Her career began in London in Decorative arts and has consequently spent the last thirty years working in Sydney. Where she has exhibited in many group shows and art prizes. Connelley draws on ancient sacred symbols and shapes them into contemporary abstract forms.
