Artist statement

An integral aspect of my artistic practice revolves around the utilisation of transparent layers of colour. I am captivated by the notion that different colours have the power to evoke distinct emotions, and my work is centred around exploring this concept.

My creative process involves the application of paint washes, allowing them to drip freely, and occasionally employing water sprays to generate flowing streams of colour on the canvas. I continually build up layers to achieve vibrant hues, while selectively applying masks to preserve specific areas untouched. The inherent uncertainty associated with this technique is something I appreciate and embrace.

What truly fascinates me about painting is the quest for a visual language capable of transcending the ordinary and evoking profound emotions.

When viewers engage with my artwork, I would like them to observe the emotions and sensations that arise from the experience.
