Artist statement

Fabric ... textiles ... stitching ... layers ... My compositions are driven largely by fabric markings and seasonal influences. I create to describe what is impacting on myself and others in Australia. If I have an idea I want to express I find  textiles and fabrics which help tell the story.

My pieces are substantial and highly textured and I aim for appreciation both at a distance and up close where the stitching and layers have the most impact. All materials used are recycled or gifted and I often use rust-dyeing techniques to enhance the fabric.

Currently my work is selling through word of mouth and my website. I need to start looking for opportunities to show my work and collaborate with others.
