Door to Door Australia Submissions have now closed.
Art Aviso would like to invite Art Aviso Artist subscribers to be part of Art Aviso event 8.0 – Door to Door (Art in the time of COVID-19)
Artists will be supplied with a page from Newnes’ Pictorial Knowledge 1950’s Encyclopedia (Edited by Enid Blyton) selected at random, which will form the basis of an artwork to be exhibited at some time in the not too distant future. Artworks should be created on paper of A4 size and should remain unframed. Artworks can be created in any accompanying medium and should reference the page from the encyclopedia in any way the Artist wishes to use it.
(We normally have all of the exhibition details, venue, dates etc. organized before we put one of our exhibition events out in to the world but, as things are a bit topsy-turvey at the moment, we thought we would start with the end and work our way backwards or is it forwards? – I’m not really sure).
It seems more important to just be creating something together…apart!
NOTE: If you are an artist working in new media, the A4 work on paper can act as a link display/place holder in the exhibition for work to be viewed online.
(UPDATE: We are thrilled to announce that our Gallery partner for this project will be the wonderful No Vacancy Gallery)
To accompany the physcial exhibition we thought it appropriate to exhibit the works in a virtual online exhibition in the months prior to the space based exhibition.
This gives us an opportunity to build and grow the virtual exhibition as completed works come in, creating an evolving presentation!
