My piece depicts the loss and triumph over an constant Australian danger-that of bushfire. As a rural artist I live with this threat and fear constantly. I have shown the kangaroo as the arsonist and on its back and on the back of our most treasured fauna the firefighter triumphantly enters and eliminates the threat.

I like it when I get a physical reaction from people when they view my art. The whimsy, fun and sometime political nature of life is evident in my work from time to time.
By expressing the fierceness of a female, the ridiculous in a scenario that I paint, a message turned into humour- hopefully softening the blow breaking down barriers towards acceptance.
The expressionist nature of my work tries to blur the edges of reality and hopefully makes people smile, wonder, to think and create conversation.
Like squeezing a bit of lemon juice into a cut.
