Art Aviso - Exhibition event 1.0
Art Aviso was designed to nurture a strong sense of connection in the Art community between Artists, Galleries and Art Lovers, and provide a valuable resource for Artists. We do this by sharing News, Stories, Exhibitions and Artwork and fostering the connection between Galleries and Artists and gaining dedicated art-loving followers.
As important as the online platform is in initiating connections, we believe that an essential element of any Artistic practice is the experience of exhibiting work in a professional, supportive Gallery environment and connecting with other Artists, Art Lovers and Galleries in the real world.
It is for these reasons that in 2019 we launched Art Aviso events!
Other than the Art Aviso subscription fee we aim to provide these opportunities for Art Aviso artists at no (or minimal) cost to the artist.
Art Aviso events will be comprised of various online and offline events:
- Group exhibitions
- Artist talks
In April 2019 Art Aviso held its first event (Art Aviso Events 1.0) at No Vacancy Gallery in Melbourne's CBD; a curated exhibition of artworks selected from current Art Aviso Artist subscribers. The aim of the exhibition was to showcase the talent of the Art Aviso subscribing members, as well as providing an opportunity to experience a curated group exhibition in one of our member Galleries and connect with other Artists and Art Lovers.
Art Aviso Exhibition Event 1.0 included the work of 27 Artists working in a variety of mediums, including: Printmaking, sculpture, installation art, painting, collage, mixed media and photography. We believe it is important to create a blend of emerging and mid-career artist's work in our exhibition events.
We like to have a live component with all Art Aviso exhibition events. As part of event 1.0 established Melbourne based Artist Kate Rohde came in to talk about her art practice and balancing a creative life with family and work expectations.
