I have three encaustic wax pieces in the BODY, a group show at in.cube8r.
The body carries each and every one of us through our lives, grows and changes with us whilst bearing the brunt of stresses and strains. I zig zagged my way through the centuries of representations of the body and settled on friendship and .. wax to explore connections with ageing, sexuality, health and self-image.
“Lady Garden” series is a collaboration with other women artists to explore how it feels to be in the female. Each work is an encaustic wax collage sitting on a red board. We start with the euphemism for the vulva and pubic hair: lady garden.
