When the person you love is lost to you, the continuum of life pauses. The world carries on and yet, you seem separate from it, patiently marking time, until you might feel whole again.

This work is painted on a round timber panel in response to the circular buttons I was gifted and was chosen to represent how time continues, day after night whilst the arms hold onto the memory of a loved one who is not present but whose embrace remains longed for.

2020 is a year that has been marked by separation from loved ones like no other, life as we have known it paused whilst we hoped for a return to the normal we once knew.
