I was inspired to create this artwork after my return travels to the south of France. Walking in the footsteps of Van Gogh and Cezanne and painting the Provence landscape enabled me to extend my understanding of the landscape through these great artists. My work is a homage to the complexity and beauty of the sunflowers and the challenge of receiving 6 yellow buttons for this project. The gold foil detail in the background was to highlight the gold details on the buttons received. I have attached the buttons on the back of the artwork.
