Artist statement

Painting and drawing are my favorite media, and - as the room and the viewer of my works play an important part in it - installation art is not far away. You will find my works unfolding on a group of separated panels, inviting the mind to bridge the gaps of information.

They have not been cut away, but I try to understand what (and how much or how little) I have to do on the panels to make our perception work. So I usually start defining the number, size and proportions of the panels as well as the distance between they. All this defines what I have to do on the panels. What does our brain need to trigger imagination, make the panels connect and make us see things and situations?

It is amazing to experience the way our mind makes up what we see, - or believes to see. Basically, this is how we “make up” our idea of reality.

This gives me the reason to enjoy working with colours and lines.

I found this a rewarding method. It gives me and you the chance to discover new and specific forms of art, to think new, to be open for surprises and discoveries. And to understand how our imagination is triggered, how narratives develop and make us think, “this” is real and true.

Let us see how this fits in with artists’ co-operations, with staging visitor’s experiences offering art for the open-minded.
