Artist statement
Moving to Clunes a few years ago I have retired from a corporate career and recommenced drawing and painting after a long absence from creative pursuits.
For inspiration I only need to look out the window - the local landscape is always changing and varies greatly from season to season. I interpret what I see, and my ideas, in my own style that could be described as abstract or interpretive art. Maybe in another life I would have been a graphic artist.
I love colour and the interaction of colours that would not necessarily be considered complementary. Adding an overlay of ink detail gives an added dimension to the work.
Colour can bring joy to people lives and affect their emotions and well being. If I can make a person smile when they see my artwork I am more than satisfied.
