Artist statement

For the past twenty years I have concentrated on a series of large black and white , hand painted photographs titled "The Red Hand" series. 

With this series I endeavor to make beautiful images that have a strong message, either environmental, political or socially conscious. The way we are treating the planet, ignoring climate change and a multitude of other greed driven decisions leaves us with blood on our hands.

My passion is for Black and White and many of my photographs are set up with a model (usually a friend) or are still life constructions.

It is important to me that the photographs have a sense of beauty as well as telling a story.

Hand colouring has been  a big part of my photography and is something I enjoy immensely.
