My current work explores the space between the real and the virtual, utilising 3D modelling and sculpting software.
By referencing flora, it is a creative approach rooted deep in experience as a visual artist and horticulturist.
Organic geometry, in particular the unique and evolving mathematical permutations of Australian flora, forms the basis of an architectural approach to these computative constructions.
Instead of giving over to algorithmic processes, plants are digitally sculpted by the hand and eye to form intricately detailed studies.
Banksia species have become a signature theme, exploring the geometry of these iconic botanical forms.
Works are presented in final form as limited edition archival prints on museum paper.
