We would like to invite Art Aviso Artist subscribers to submit work for:
‘Elsewhere & Other Places’
A Non aquisitive Art Prize and Virtual exhibition.

Entries open to: Current Art Aviso subscribers based anywhere in the world with a valid subscription and a complete Artist profile and the time of submission and judging/virtual exhibition.

Date of completion of work: Must have been completed April 2020 – July 2021
Registration opens: 15th February 2021
Submission open: Wednesday 24th of March 2021
Submissions close: 31st July 2021
Shortlisted Artists notified: 16th August 2021
Online Exhibition of Shortlisted Artists: 30th August 2021
Main prize winner Announced: 30th August 2021
Peoples Choice winner announced: 15th September 2021
Entry requirements and conditions
Art Aviso Artist subscribers are invited to submit an artwork that can be experienced in an online environment and viewed from anywhere in the world with an Internet connection.
The prize will be awarded for the artwork or artwork delivery that best transports the viewer to another place using an alternative experience of viewing art in the online environment.
All mediums are encouraged, including traditional art forms, new media, sound, film etc.
The artwork must have been created in the 12 months prior to submission.
Entries in the Elsewhere and Other places prize competition are also eligible to be considered for:
Peoples Choice Award (Online voting): $500 AUD
To be considered for selection, the artist must comply with all entry instructions and conditions.
Art Aviso, will work with a selection team including a professional artist and curator to select the shortlist and the main prize.
The Peoples Choice prize will be selected by public and peer voting.
Shortlisted artworks will be exhibited online.
All mediums are encouraged.
Instructions and conditions
Eligibility
The prize is open to Art Aviso Artist Subscribers with a complete and valid Artist profile at the time of entry and judging.
The artist may enter one work only.
The work
Can be in any medium, including new media and sound.
Must have been completed between April 2020 and July 2021
Exhibiting the work
The artist grants Art Aviso permission to display the work in an online exhibition of selected shortlisted finalists on the Art Aviso website.
Original and non-infringing work
The artist warrants that the work is their original work and does not infringe the copyright, moral rights or other rights of any third party.
Licensing the work
If the artist is selected as a finalist, the artist grants to Art Aviso a non-exclusive, worldwide, royalty-free, irrevocable, perpetual licence to reproduce (including photograph) the work in material form, publish and communicate the work to the public for the following purposes, and anything incidental to such purposes: marketing, publicity, educational, publication (for sale or otherwise) and archival uses of the Gallery in relation to the prize and its exhibition in all media, including electronic/digital, broadcasting and print media.
Moral rights
Art Aviso will attribute the artist when exhibiting, reproducing or publishing the work or communicating the work to the public, unless it is reasonable in all the circumstances not to do so.
Selection of works
The finalists (shortlist) and winner for the ‘Elsewhere and Other Places’ monetary prize, will be selected by by a team of selectors including a professional artist and curator. TBA
The prizewinner for the peoples choice award will be selected by online voting.
The winner of the Elsewhere and other places prize receives payment of $3000 (AUD)
The winner of the encouragement prize receives payment of $500 AUD
The prizes are NOT acquisitive.
The judges’ decision and the votes are considered final and no correspondence shall be entered into.
Finalists and prize winners will be announced to the media and published on the Art Aviso website on 30th of August 2021 (main prize winner) and 15th September (peoples choice award).
Force majeure
Where, for any reason beyond the reasonable control of Art Aviso (including, for example, earthquake; flood; fire; act of God; terrorism; pandemic; government directions, orders or regulations; labour strikes or other emergency event), Art Aviso is prevented or materially hindered from holding the competition or an exhibition of works then it may vary, postpone or cancel the competition by notice in writing to that effect to the artists and by a notice on its website.
Conditions
Entrants must warrant that their entries are their original work. They must be the sole copyright holder and intellectual property owner of their entries in accordance with common law and warrant that any intellectual property rights and moral rights of a third party have not been infringed. Intellectual property rights in entries remain with the entrant as the copyright owner. It is a condition of entry that the entrant grants to Art Aviso licence to use, publicly display, publicise, reproduce the entry or part of an entry, including in electronic form and broadcast, for publicity, promotional, educational and administrative purposes associated with the Art Aviso Event 10.0 – Elsewhere and Other places.

Note: Art Aviso is a website created to provide opportunities to visual artists and the promotion of unique, original and limited edition artwork, and not for the promotion of mass produced artwork or merchandise or work deemed to potentially infringe copyright law or any material including, but not limited to, material that is, in our opinion, likely to cause annoyance, or which is defamatory, racist, obscene, threatening, pornographic or otherwise, and we reserve the right to reject artworks of this nature.
