This botanical study is of Hemlock, a poisonous plant the juice of which was imbibed by Socrates. I see his death as loss, and yet triumph. The haiku is by Kobayashi Issa (1763 – 1828). It seems very appropriate to the given theme.
“A world of dewdrops
And within every dewdrop
A world of struggle”.
The artwork is mixed media (handmade paper, acrylic paint, crystals, twine, pen and a piece of vintage tablecloth).

I am an emerging artist, experimenting across many genre’s and using many different forms of medium. My current interest is in Circus Performers, Cabaret and Burlesque. I have attended numerous short courses and workshops, however, I am largely self-taught. I am presently situated at Le Studio Art Space in Mordialloc.
