Lockdown. Slowdown. The gift of time. Time to tend the soil and nurture the garden. Time to plant seeds and watch new life grow. Time to feel the earth’s gentle heart beat. Time to breathe slowly and move with nature’s rhythm. Time to enjoy the results of hard work when nature burst into colour in spring. And time to discover and absorb the healing and uplifting feeling that only a connection with nature can bring.

I live in rural Victoria and find inspiration in the countryside around me. I am lucky to have time to spend a part of each day developing artwork. Drawing and painting are my preferred mediums so this project has given me the opportunity and challenge to try something new. I am also a gardener and much of lockdown was spent planting and planning for the arrival of the warm weather and the results of the hard work. The detail I see when I’m working with nature gives me inspiration for my artworks.
