While creating this artwork I thought about the journey that the buttons for this project had made, the history of the tiny objects and the garments that they adorned. How some buttons travel from one garment to be used on another or end up in jars and button tins, in sewing rooms or in craft projects and artworks. I thought about buttons made from Mother of Pearl and shells and the journey that they made from the sea to our clothing, and the buttons that work their way loose and are lost forever.
